Ask Every Student’s Coalition Building Curriculum Resource

Coalition building is a crucial part of student voting work! When done right, it can not only lend your initiative greater capacity but also increase your impact, building legitimacy and visibility while providing an institutional structure for your work. Whether you are starting a campus voting coalition from scratch, or building on an experienced and established one, the AES Coalition Building Curriculum has tools and resources that can support your efforts, including a Getting Started Worksheet designed for campuses who don’t yet have a coalition on campus and would like to start one, a Partnership Mapping Worksheet, which is perfect for folks with an existing coalition that you want to expand, strengthen and/or diversify, and many more!

How would a campus best use this resource?
Use the tools in the Coalition Building Curriculum in sequence to think through the coalition structure and partnerships that make the most sense for your campus context. If you have an existing coalition or key partners, use the Facilitator Guide to work through the collaborative activities together.
Learning outcomes
Coalition partners will strategically determine which partners to bring into their campus voting coalition or form a campus voting coalition with, and develop an outreach plan.
